KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Abdul Malik Gaddi on Monday ordered provisional release of a consignment of cross/industrial tyres.
The bench was hearing a counsel from Franklin Law Associates in a petition filed by Tayyebi Corporation which imported cross tyres used in heavy duty construction vehicles. The respondent custom officials told the bench that the consignment was detained over a classification dispute.
The bench said that if there is a dispute over classification, the issue be sent to the concerned classification committee for a decision. The bench with the above observation ordered the department to release the consignment forthwith.
