KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan on Wednesday adjourned hearing of a case of glass ware consignment till Nov 6 asking the counsel for Pakistan Customs to seek instructions from officials concerned,

The bench was hearing a petition filed by Naqeebullah who imported glass ware from Iran via Quetta which was duly cleared by the Quetta Collectorate. Miss Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for the petitioner submitted that show caused against her client has been vacated and ONO is also in favour. The petitioner is ready to pay security against tax, fine etc while in any case benefit of SRO 499 of 2009 is available to him.

The bench noted that on previous hearing, the counsel for respondent customs collectorate was asked to come out with extent of duty, tax, re-dumption fine etc but such a statement was not filed.

The bench adjourned the hearing till Nov 6 directing the counsel to come up with instructions from the respondent officials.
