KARACHI: MCC Appraisement East has lodged an FIR against certain persons for illegal removal of in-bonded goods without filing of ex-bond GD, thus evading legitimate government revenue.

Principal Appraiser Dost Mohammad received information that a consignment of mixture of fatty acid imported and in-bonded in the warehouse of M/s H. Akbar Ali & Co. has been illegally removed by the importers and their accomplices.

Deputy Collector R&D formed a team to visit the premises of M/s H. Aknar Ali. The team reported GD was duly entered in the bond register showing in-bonding of 297 drums of mixture of fatty acids and 160 drums of non-specific soap and gum stock. Out of this quantity, 160 drums of non-specific soap and gum stock were ex-bonded vide ex-bond GD and duly entered in the register but 297 drums of mixture of fatty acid were not physically available in the bond.

Liaquat Ali, warehouse manager informed that the importer Mansoor s/o Abdul Razzaq had allowed to remove the goods on the direction of one Abdul Qadir. Liaquat Ali the ex-bond GD of the removed goods were filed afterwards and entry was made in the register after payment of duty and taxes.

An FIR is lodged against M/s M.M Traders, Liaquat Ali, Abdul Qadir and investigations are underway.

Collector Saeed Akram appreciated the team comprising PA Dost Mohammad, AOs Amir Hussain, Javed Khan Azam Shah, M. Bilal, SPO Malak Hashim, Adil Rasheed and Samar Hussain and advised to expand the ambit of investigations.
