KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmd Khan yesterday ordered issuance of notices to custom officials and other respondents for Jan 19 in a case of detaining an alleged smuggled vehicle.
The bench heard a petition filed by one Hameedullah represented by Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate who submitted that the Toyota Crown car, model 2007 was taken into custody by custom officials from Saddar area. The petitioner submitted the documents but the customs demanded import documents. The bench after hearing the sides ordered issuance of notices to the respondents for Jan 19.
The same bench also ordered release of a consignment of LED lights imported by Nishat Mills but were stuck up at the Karachi Port due to Regulatory Duty dispute. The bench after hearing a counsel from Franklin Law Associates, ordered release of the consignment after payment of 50 pc amount to Nazir of the Court while remaining 50 per cent with the Custom officials.
