QUETTA: Customs authorities seized smuggled goods from passenger coaches bringing pilgrims from Iran to Quetta on Thursday.
The smuggled goods were loaded on 08 coaches that arrived in Quetta from Iran late on Wednesday night, customs officials said.
Customs personnel impounded the coaches. The smuggled goods included auto spare parts, Iranian carpets, plastic, shampoos,tyres and edible items . Its value was estimated at around millions of Rupees. Collector of Customs Quetta Ashraf Ali Customs , said.
“We raided these passenger coaches after receiving information about presence of contraband goods in the vehicles,” he said. in meanwhile Customs authorities along with FC authorities also recovered foreign goods from a local train coming from borders areas to Quetta near Sheela Bagh and also recovered hundred of mobile phones from another check post near Quetta Baleli.
