LAHORE: Collector of Customs Zulfiqar Younas has inaugurated the services of immediate clearance group (ICG) at Gerry’s shed on Friday.
The facility will decrease the customs clearance time at AFU, Lahore. It has been introduced to facilitate trade at the cargo complex. Aim of ICG services is to expedite clearance of perishable goods. At this occasion, the Collector of Customs emphasized the importance of close collaboration between Customs, clearing agents, importers, exporters and ground handling agents.

While addressing the audience present at the ceremony, the Collector also appreciated the efforts of all stake holders for their positive role in enhancing trade at the Airport Freight Unit Lahore.
Customs staff has been appointed at ICG to provide clearance round the clock 24/7. This special initiative by the Collector at will hugely benefit the clearance of perishable goods and live animals, both of which are an important source of revenue for the Collectorate of Customs (Preventive), Lahore.
At this occasion, Additional Collector Yasin Murtaza, Deputy Collector Palwasha Syed, and Assistant Collector Hamza Lak were also present.
Among other guests other regulatory agencies present on the occasion included M.Ilyas from Gerrys Dnata, Jafar Turkish Airline, Irfan from Sri Lankan Airline, Asim Peerzada from DHL and others.
