KARACHI: Directorate General of Customs Valuation has issued several valuation guidelines for the reference of clearance collectorates.
Directorate General of Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer has initiated an exercise to develop database values for about 2000-3000 different items, which are not commensurate with international price trends.
An exercise was initiated to develop database values for different items wherein it has been observed that declarations are wide range and do not correctly reflect values of the items as traded in international market.
Director General Syed Tanveer has advised the formation to scrutinize the import data and streamline the values.
During the scrutiny of previous clearance of data, it was observed that several goods are being assessed at different values and certain transactions are on very low side.
The Directorate General after carefully examining the clearance data, also conducted market inquiries to verify the authenticity of declarations. Online prices were also obtained to corroborate the findings of the market surveys.
The reference values under PCT 3922 of Bathroom accessories made of plastic material Flush tanks, seat covers, fittings, showers, soap dish, towel hangers, cabinets, cloth hangers/holders, drain/waste pipe etc (of low end brands) are fixed at #3.5/kg.
The reference values under PCT 3004.2000 of Lincomycin Injections of China are fixed at $10.667/kg. The reference values under PCT 3004.2000 of Metronidazole Injections of China are fixed at $1.65/kg.
The reference customs values of Palm fatty acid distillate under PCT 3823.1910 of all origins are fixed at $0.64/kg. Reference values of empty plastic bottles excluding pharmaceutical grade under PCT 3926.9099 of China origins are $3.50/kg.
The reference values under PCT 3917 of PVC hose pipe of Korea are fixed at $2.2/kg and of China at $2.0/kg.
