KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Muhammad Humayun Khan, on Thursday fixed Nov 16 to hear a petition filed by Saleem Ahmed of Rahat Impex against Chairman FBR, Collector Customs MCC, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim and Director Intelligence and Investigations.
The petitioner moved the court against detention of the imported consignment.
Masooda Siraj advocate appearing for the respondents submitted written statement in the petition maintaining that the petitioner approached the court with un-clean hands after committing mis-declaration and fiscal fraud. A huge amount of duty and taxes were evaded.
She maintained that petitioner declared the import value of the consignment at the rate of US $ 6407 equal to rupees 682,366 whereas as per actual invoice obtained from shipping agent comes to US $ 81673.83 equal to rupees 9,168,859. The loss was equal to rupees 4,903,843.
The bench after hearing the sides ordered that petition will be heard on Nov 16.
