KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Muhammad Humayun Khan disposed of a constitution petition after Custom officials informed of withdrawing the entire proceedings against a company dealing in old and used generators.
As the case was called, Kashif Nazeer Advocate representing the Customs department submitted that the entire proceedings including issuance of show cause notice to the petitioner International Power Services.
The petitioner company challenged the notice by the Custom authorities on ground that power generator available at their place were being smuggled. The company maintained that the generators were as old as 20-25 years and used till capacity.
As the counsel for petitioner expressed satisfaction over the statement made by the counsel for Customs, the bench recording the said statement disposed of the petition bearing number CP-D 4657 of 2016.
