KARACHI: The Directorate General, Customs Valuation issued Valuation Ruling (VR 918/2016) in respect of Customs Valuation for Barley and Oats in exercise of powers conferred under section 25 (2) of the Customs Act 1969.
The new VR was issued on the directives of the DG Valuation after taking all stakeholders on board and applying the sequential method besides market survey and international prices, the VR issued by Dr. Wasim Memon, Director Valuation said.
According to the VR, Barley and oat will be assessed under H.S Code 1003.9000 and 1004.9000. Accordingly Barley from Australia, Moldova, Ukraine and USA will be valued at US $ 0.20 per kilogram while US $0.22 per kg from other sources. While Oats will be valued at US $ 0.20 per kilogram from Ukraine and Latvia while US $ 0.22 per kilogram from other sources.
