KARACHI: Lt. Col (R) Siraj ul Naeem, Director General NAB (Karachi) has said that NAB is committed to eradicate corruption by adopting Zero Tolerance Policy across under the leadership of Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB.
He said these remarks while addressing at Anti-Corruption Seminar for Executing and Implementing agencies was organized by Asian Development bank (ADB) at Avari Towers Hotel. Karachi.
In his address to delegates on Say No to Corruption session, he said that projects of billion of rupees are beautifully maintained on papers with very less development on ground. He said that NAB is determined to eradicate corruption through awareness, prevention and enforcement initiatives. He said NAB Karachi is taking preventive measures through formation of Prevention Committees. The Bureau is carrying on recovery drive for HESCO defaulters and has recovered Rs.5,046 million till 21st April 2016.
He accentuated that after the appointment of Ch. Qamar Zaman as Chairman NAB, he instituted measures to make organization more effective and efficient. Fresh SOPs were formulated having strict timelines to process any the case. This has made NAB one of the most efficacious and productive Anti-Corruption Agencies, both nationally and internationally.
The performance of NAB (K) during 2015 as compared to last decade has been praiseworthy and distinctive. A radical change in the number of complaints has been witnessed compared to the previous years which shows the trust and confidence of people in NAB.
