KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Anwar Ahmed Khan on Wednesday ordered de-sealing of Euro Pharmaceuticals.
The bench earlier heard a constitution petition filed by the company through its representatives against levy of custom duty and fine by Pakistan Customs. The duty and fine was slapped on ground of importing raw material for manufacturing purpose but instead of use in the industry, sold it in the open market at higher rates, submitted Inlays Ashen, counsel for Pakistan Customs.
However during hearing, the bench was informed by the counsel for the petitioner that unit has been sealed. The bench inquired from the custom at which the bench was informed by an officer of the Pakistan Drug Laboratory that the factory was sealed by them.
The bench after hearing the sides while disposing of the petition ordered that the factory be de-sealed.
