KARACHI: MCC Appraisement West has detected a case wherein transit mixer trucks with tempered chassis numbers were being imported.
According to details of the case, Collector Appraisement West Mohammad Saleem formed a committee comprising Additional Collector Nayyar Shafique, Deputy Collectors Asfandyar Khan and Imran Raza and Principal Appraiser Abdul Qayyum to keep a vigil on the import of transit mixer trucks.
Additional Collector Shafique had this doubt that the chassis numbers of the vehicles imported by M/s Rehman Construction Co, and M/s Globe Impex had been tempered.
The same had to be examined through committee constituted for the purpose to physically examine the aforesaid Transit Mixer Trucks specifically confirming the actual description PCT of the subject Transit Mixers besides other aspects.
Nayyar Shafique directed to confirm Chassis numbers of aforesaid eight Transit Mixers through Forensic Division, Sindh. R&D Appraiser Anwar Zaib took the trucks to concerned Forensic Division.
The Forensic Division constituted a team for examination and verification of Chassis Numbers of the aforesaid eight Transit Mixer Trucks who examined the same and furnished their report that out of eight Transit Mixer Trucks, one Nissan Brand Transit Mixer Truck found bearing tempered Chassis number.
