KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has revised the customs values of black pepper and white pepper vide valuation ruling No. 743/2015.
It was brought to the notice of Directorate General by field formation that black pepper and white pepper was being imported at under invoiced values. This prompted an exercise to correctly determine customs value of the goods.
During the meetings held to deliberate the correct customs values. The importers pointed out that values are dependent on quality, size of grain, aroma and availability in market.
Black pepper whole under PCT 0904.1110 of Vietnam, Madagaskar, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka and Brazil will assessed for duty and taxes at $4.3 per KG. Black pepper whole under PCT 0904.1110 of all other origins would be assessed at $4.5 per KG.
White pepper whole under PCT 0904.1120 of Vietnam, Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka will assessed for duty and taxes at $4.7 per KG. White pepper whole under PCT 0904.1120 of all other origins would be assessed at $4.9 per KG.
