KARACHI: The High Court of Sindh (SHC) has barred Customs from taking an action against M/s United Marine Agency Pvt Ltd, its employees in pursuance of FIRs lodged against the directors of the agency at MCC Appraisement East.

M/s United Marine Agency through M/s Franklin Law Associates sought quashment of FIRs registered at MCC Appraisement East wherein its directors have been indicted as accused without being named.

Faisal Ghani and Haider Shaikh of M/s Franklin Law Associates representing M/s United Marine Agency contended before the court that the FIRs in question were registered due to some misunderstanding on the part of customs officials and the agency or its employees were not involved in any offence.

The customs officials voluntarily effected their presence and submitted that subject FIRs were outcome of some misunderstanding and did not stand against M/s United Marine Agency.

Court barred Customs from taking any action against the agency. However, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case is directed to complete investigation in the aforesaid FIRs within three weeks.
