KARACHI: Syed Faiz Rasool Rashidi, Judge, Special Customs Court, Karachi on Monday allowed a request by the Customs, Intelligence and Investigations and put of hearing in a bail application till Oct 26.
Zia-ul-Hasan advocate appearing of the applicant Naveed Ahmed filed the acquittal application under section 265-K (bail on ground of insufficient evidence) of the Cr.P.C.
The counsel for applicant challenged the jurisdiction of the departmental authority (Collector Customs).
The Investigating Officer of the case however maintained that accused mislead the custom authorities by saying that he has a factory working within the country yet his name never appeared amongst tax payers.
The IO also said that live style of the accused along with family was beyond his known sources of invoke.The applicant has taken undue benefit of the SRO 1125 of 2011, submitted the counsel for applicant/petitioner,
