In a significant operation driven by credible intelligence, the Pakistani Customs’ Marine Section executed a successful anti-smuggling mission, underscoring the vital role of customs enforcement in supporting the nation’s struggling economy. Under the leadership of Collector Enforcement Karachi, Moen-Ud-Din Ahmed Wani, with Additional Collector Baasit Hussain and Deputy Collector Rabel khokar, the operation took place between November 13 and 16.
The team targeted a wooden launch named “Al-Buraq,” registration number BFD-15210, navigating the open sea near Ras Malan, close to Ormara. Upon detailed examination and measurement, the customs officials discovered and seized 9,148 liters of smuggled high-speed diesel (HSD), valued at Rs. 10.23 million.
The seized diesel oil was confiscated under Section 168 of the Customs Act, 1969, and a notice was issued under Section 171 of the same act. The market value of the seized goods is a significant Rs. 10.23 million.
