Karachi: In a significant drug bust, Pakistani Customs officials at Jinnah International Airport intercepted a passenger Abdul Qadir Mansori attempting to smuggle 1.17 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as “Ice,” concealed in his luggage.

The incident occurred during the early hours of September 14th.

Actionable information passed by Collector JIAP Mr. Adeem Khan to ADC Mr. Faysal Khan for increasing vigilance at International Deparure. DC Hammad and staff of Internarional Departure was accordingly sensitised which led to successful recovery of Meth tactfully concealed in a bag.

The contraband, with an estimated market value of approximately 20 million PKR, was discovered hidden in a secret compartment of Mansori’s luggage during routine scanning by customs officials. The scanner operator’s suspicion led to a thorough inspection, revealing the concealed drugs.

Initial tests indicate the substance is methamphetamine, though further chemical analysis is underway to confirm its exact nature. Mansori has been detained for further interrogation to uncover any potential accomplices. An FIR has been lodged, and legal proceedings are set to follow.

This successful operation underscores the vigilance and dedication of Pakistani Customs in combating drug trafficking at the nation’s airports.
