KARACHI: In a significant crackdown on smuggled goods, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement in Karachi successfully seized approximately 55,000 kg of smuggled plastic cling film. The operation, conducted at a godown in the Korangi Industrial Area, was based on credible information received by the Collectorate.

The operation was spearheaded by Collector Basit Abbasi, who tipped off Additional Collector Dawood Pirzado. The team, including DC-ASO Raza Naqvi, SPS-ASO Muhammad Habib Mayo, Muhammad Saqlain, and Preventive Officer Muhammad Zubair, executed the seizure efficiently.

The confiscated goods, valued at around Rs 48 million, were transported on eight rented Mazdas to the Collectorate’s warehouse for detailed examination and further legal proceedings. The government continues its stringent measures against smuggling, with legal actions currently underway.
