QUETTA: Customs Quetta has seized large quantity of smuggled goods in various operations as the Customs is pursuing a rigorous anti-smuggling campaign in line with the vision of PM Imran Khan.

Collector Quetta Dr. Fareed and Additional Collector Moin Afzal have advised Assistant Collectors Shafiullah and Baz Gul to keep strict vigilance and strengthen the intelligence network so that movement of smuggled goods could be eliminated.

According to details, ASO Unit of Team SURAB headed by Inspector Shabbir Khan has intercepted of 22 wheeler HINO Trailer loaded with 40 container.

Detailed examination led to the recovery of 8172 pair of top brand Nike joggers valuing Rs56.76 million which were attempted to be smuggled under the guise of customs clearance documents.

Goods alongwith conveyance has been seized and further proceedings are under way.

Under the Enforcement Collectorate Quetta’s vigorous drive against anti-smuggling, ASO Squad headed by Incharge CP Ziarat Cross Mr Shehzad Akhtar after hectic pursuit has intercepted 10 wheeler truck enroute to Punjab.

Detailed examination has revealed that huge quantity comprising 17 tons of betel nut and 70 used tyres which was hidden under the crushed coal powder.  Value of seized betel but including conveyance is around 55 million.

In a continued strict vigil, Anti Smuggling Squad led by Inspector Jameel Kakar during road check movement at Lakpass seized miscellaneous smuggled goods comprising gutka, tyres and puppy seeds valuing Rs5.3 million.

In pursuance of directive of Chief Collector, Baluchistan, and Ministry of Interior’s instructions, ASO Squad headed by Incharge Lakpass Jameel Kakar in an anti smuggling operations has seized 820 bags of urea being transported on two trucks valuing Rs4.10 million.
