KARACHI: Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) visited All Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Conference which was held at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. The FTO addressed 46 Presidents of various Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The Conference was held under the auspices of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was welcomed by Mr. Nadeem A. Rauf, President, Rawalpindi Chamber, President FPCCI and Mr. Sohail Altaf, Founder Member, RCCI, Rawalpindi, who appreciated the initiatives and working of Dr. Asif Mehmood Jah, Hon’ble FTO, and efforts he is making to facilitating and redressing the grievances of the taxpayers.
The Hon’ble FTO spoke on the occasion and given a briefing to the participants about the working of the Office of FTO with a message that they can utilize the services of his Office free of charge where their grievances have been resolved immediately and also briefed about the recent initiatives undertaken by the Hon’ble FTO during the past three months.
He also appreciated Mr. Sohail Altaf, who has been appointed as the Honorary Advisor Business from RCCI. He also desired all the Presidents of the Chambers to send their nominations on similar basis which will be proposed accordingly. After his address, President Gujranwala Chamber, President Sialkot Chamber and other Presidents appreciated the performance of the Hon’ble FTO. Mr. Irfan, President FPCCI, given a suggestion to the Hon’ble FTO that the facilitation desk may be created at all major chambers where facilitation staff would be provided by the relevant chamber who should be properly trained by the business community to redress their bonafide grievances of the highhandedness of the tax machinery or employees of FBR.
