KARACHI: The management of renowned Web site CustomNews.pk denied the allegation of extracting money from importers or officials or any individual for publishing biased news items favouring any one.
The allegations were made by jugde of special custom, taxation and anti smuggling Court at Katachi in a ketter addressed to the Chairman FBR in reaction over a news item published by the Web site. The news was based on a letter written to Chairman FBR by an advocate who complained about some judgments by the custom Court.
The said letter was received through proper channel and was entertained by the high officials of Pakistan Customs who entrusted probe to a senior officer presently on training.
The judge named Dost Muhammad, superintendent of DIT Karachi, Web site Court reporter Ashfaq_ur_Rahman and Administrator Mashhud Aslam alleging that news was aimed at defaming the court and to obstruct dispensation of justice.
The management of the Web site refuting the allegations seconded the demand for a probe made by the trial court judge and also demanded of the federal law minister to devise a mechanism for evaluating the ratio of judgments by courts working under control of federal government.
