QUETTA: Customs Preventive Quetta has seized miscellaneous smuggled goods wroth Rs126 million.

In line with the directions of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Chief Collector (Balochistan) Gul Rehman to intensify the anti-smuggling drive, Collector Preventive Quetta Irfan Javaid advised his team comprising Additional Collector Yasir Wahab Kalwer, Deputy Collector Akber Jaan, Superintendent Tariq Sultan and Inspector Shehzad Akbar to tighten the vigilance on the movement of smuggled goods.

As a result of strengthened intelligence network and monitoring of all routes, Customs (E&C) Chaman of MCC seized large quantity of foreign origin spices and dry fruits along with two transporting vehicles. The value of seized goods is Rs24 million.

Moreover, Customs Check Post, Darakshan-Bolan of MCC (Enforcement & Compliance), Quetta with the assistance of Frontier Corps Balochistan seized large quantity of betel nut, base oil, Chinese salt, milk powder etc. along with five trucks. The value of seized goods is Rs102 million.

Two FIRs have been lodged and further legal proceedings are underway.
