KARACHI: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi acting on an information received from Naval Intelligence has seized large quantity of crystal meth /ICE worth Rs1.6 billion.
An FIR is lodged and investigation is underway.
Directorate of Customs Intelligence, Karachi in co-ordination with Naval Intelligence Pakistan Navy seized an unprecedented quantity and amount of approx 100 kg of Crystal Meth (ICE) worth approximately Rs 1.6 Billion in the international market.
The facts of the case are that upon a tip received through Director Irfan Javed that ICE was being smuggled from coast of Karachi, joint surveillance was mounted by Customs Intelligence alongwith Naval Intelligence at the coastline and dock yards.
Subsequently, it was informed that white narcotics (crystal Meth/ ICE) was dumped at a location along the coastline near Ibrahim Hyderi area, Karachi.
Resultantly the surveillance teams of Intelligence & Investigation, Karachi alongwith the Naval Intelligence initiated the operation and raided the dumping location.
Consequently, 100 kg of Crystal Meth (ICE) worth international market value of approx. Rs 1600 million was seized. The drug cache was planned to be smuggled abroad via sea route.
The seized narcotics have been taken over for initiating legal and criminal proceedings.
