KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation Karachi has been quite efficient against smuggling and movement of smuggled goods as the Anti-smuggling Organization (ASO) of the Directorate seized smuggled goods worth Rs44.9 million in last three weeks.
Director I&I Karachi Irfan Jawaid has advised the ASO led by Irshad Shah to expedite activities against non-duty paid vehicles in particular as well as movement of other smuggled goods.
During the period under review ASO seized 11,300 liters of foreign origin high speed diesel (HSD) worth Rs1.4 million; a Toyota Prado worth Rs4.4 million; two Toyota Surf vehicles worth Rs7.9 million; betel nut worth Rs18.7 million; 2.5 tons of skimmed milk worth Rs0.7 million; a Toyota Mar-X vehicle worth Rs3.4 million; a Mercedez Benz worth Rs3.4 million among other goods.
Director Irfan Jawaid has appreciated ASO and Superintendent Irshad Shah for outstanding performance.
