ISLAMABAD: Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Monday said that the government was adopting new policies to boost investment in energy sector.

He said this while addressing the international conference on petroleum to discuss state of Pakistan petroleum industry, new global trends and opportunities in Pakistan petroleum sector.

Terming uninterrupted power supply vital for economic growth, Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that the government was making all efforts to overcome the prevailing energy crises in the country. He said that the government was bringing reforms and promoting investment in the energy sector.

The minister said that trade deficit was increasing due to the import of petroleum products.He said that tow oil refineries, in collaboration with Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, would be established in the country.
