KARACHI: The anti-smuggling organization (ASO) of MCC Preventive Lahore has foiled a bid to smuggle mobile phones and seized goods worth Rs2.0 million.
Information was received through Additional Collector Tayyaba Kayani the attempt would be made to transport smuggled mobile phones.
Deputy Collector Moazzam Raza formed a team headed by Superintendent Agha Qadeer Haider and Inspectors Waheed Bhatti, Nasir Saeed, Saleem Shahid to thwart the attempt.
The suspected vehicle was spotted and stopped at Hall Road and checking resulted in recovery of 725 mobile phones of assorted brands worth Rs2.0 million. The value of the vehicle is Rs2.5 million.
A case has been registered and further investigations are under way.
