KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan on Monday restrained Pakistan Customs from taking any coercive action against Fauji Cement.
The bench was hearing a Special Customs Reference Application (SCRA) filed by the cement company. The counsel for company said that Tribunal passed order in favour of the department in haste.
Khalid Rajpar advocate appearing for the respondent Pakistan Customs said that a huge amount of rupees 25 billion including custom duty, taxes is recoverable since 26 years.
The bench however adjourned hearing till Oct 24 directing the petitioner side to submit a number of documents.
