KARACHI: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar visited the FBR House-Islamabad and appreciated the Board for the achieving the revenue collection target for the year 2015-16. FBR collected total revenue of Rs3.112 trillion as against the assigned target of Rs3.104 trillion. Advisor Haroon Tareen was also present on the occasion.
Ishaq Dar fixed the revenue collection of Rs3.624 trillion for the fiscal year 2016-17, which is 16.7 percent up than the recently achieved target. Dar expressed his confidence over Chairman FBR Nisar Ahmed Khan and his team that the tax net would be broadened and targets would be achieved.
Finance Minister acknowledged that the element of corruption had been curtailed to a significant extent in FBR.
It may be mentioned here that Chairman FBR had requested the Finance Minister to announce some incentive for the team on achieving the target, but Ishaq Dar made no mention of any such incentive.
Officers of only Grade 19, Grade 20 and Grade 21 posted in Islamabad of both IRS and Customs were invited for the occasion while officers of Grade-21 only including Chief Collectors, Chief commissioners and Director Generals were invited fromf North, Central and South regions.
