Quetta: The Customs Field Enforcement Unit (FEU) at Ziarat Cross has intensified its efforts against smuggling, resulting in multiple seizures of illicit goods. Under the directives of Collector Quetta, Umar Shafique, all field enforcement units have enhanced their intelligence networks and increased monitoring activities.

In recent intelligence-based operations, the FEU Ziarat Cross successfully confiscated a large quantity of smuggled goods from various vehicles, valued at Rs120 million. The seized items included cigarettes, confectionery, skimmed milk powder, tyres, and more.

The restructuring plan, which has reduced the number of Chief Collectors to one in Islamabad, has made the collectors more responsible and independent, minimizing unnecessary interferences. Additionally, the recent postings of high-profile officers, such as Inspector Naseer Kurd, have significantly blocked smuggling routes on the D.I. Khan road.

These measures are part of ongoing efforts to curb smuggling and ensure better enforcement of customs regulations.
