KARACHI: Two identical civil suits were disposed of by a bench of High Court of Sindh, directing the respective collectorates to revisit the request of plaintiffs in respect of clearance of their goods without the requirement of Electronic Import Form prescribed under Chapter 13, Rules 6 A Sub Rule XX of Foreign Exchange Manual.

The bench earlier heard Aneel Zia Advocate represented Messer’s Hadee Merchants (Pvt) Ltd while Messer’s Sunlight Corporation was represented by Ovais Ali Shah Advocate and sought directions to the custom collectorates concerned for considering their applications for clearance of goods wherein EIFs are not available.

The bench also heard the representative of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) who while seeking copies of plaints submitted that State Bank has no role in the said  element.

The bench after hearing the sides disposed of both the suits with above directions.
