In a significant crackdown on illegal fuel storage, a joint operation led by the Khuzdar Customs in collaboration with intelligence agencies has been launched in Hub. The operation, supervised by Collector Khuzdar Saleem Memon, targeted three warehouses, resulting in the confiscation of 35,000 liters of diesel and several fuel tanks.
The modus operandi of the illegal storage has evolved, with godowns now keeping smaller quantities of fuel and lifting it on a daily basis. In a concerning development, over 100 small dumping sites have been established within the residential areas of Hub. This marks the first time in Hub’s history that such frequent raids are being conducted to dismantle these dumping sites.
Over the past five months, the collectorate of Khuzdar has conducted more than 11 raids, recovering a variety of smuggled goods including betel nuts, gutka, tyres, and POL products. These efforts are part of a broader anti-smuggling campaign that has been reignited across the country, now with the added support of the military. The campaign is characterized by renewed zeal and fervor, signaling a strong commitment to eradicating smuggling activities.
