KARACHI: An application filed by Messer’s A.F.Steel Re-rolling Mills for return of surety of differential amount of duty and taxes deposited with the Nazir of SHC was allowed by a Custom Appellate Bench of High Court of Sindh.
Rana Shakawat Ali Advocate appearing for the petitioner company submitted that Custom Appellate Tribunal has ruled in favor of the petitioner company and petition was filed for the implementation of the orders of the tribunal.
The Directorate of Custom, Valuation opposed the application/petition for release of the security on ground that an SCRA No 2062/2023 has been filed against the order of the tribunal which is pending.
The bench after going through the order of the tribunal and hearing the sides held that mere filing of SCRA is not a suifficient ground. The bench granting the application ordered release of the security.
