KARACHI: Notices were issued to the respondent Directorate of Intelligence & Investigations (I&I) Pakistan Customs for 29.3.2024 while Collectorate concerned was also restrained from auctioning the subject goods till next date of hearing.
The order came from Customs Appellate Bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar and Justice Adnan-ul-Karim Memon.
Earlier Ghulam Haider Shaikh Advocate of Franklin Law Associates, counsel for petitioner submitted before the bench that petitioner has challenged the Order in Original in Custom Appeal K-236 of 2024 before Custom Appellate Tribunal Karachi bench. He expressed apprehension that custom authorities may auction the subject goods.
The bench after a brief hearing while issuing notices to Director and Deputy Director of I&I, stayed auction till next date of hearing i.e 29.3.2024.
