Quetta: The Regional Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation (I&I) Quetta has seized various smuggled and non-duty paid items and vehicles worth Rs 58.5 million in a series of operations from February 6 to February 18, 2024.
The operations were carried out under the supervision of Director Nadeem Memon, following the directions of Mr Faiz Ahmad Chadhar, Director General, I&I, Islamabad.
The seized items and vehicles include a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (model 2021), two Suzuki Alto cars (models 2014 and 2012), a bus loaded with 5600 kgs of betel nuts, and 1500 kgs of almonds.
The smuggled goods were intercepted at various check posts and routes in Balochistan. The smugglers tried to evade customs duty and taxes by using fake documents and concealment techniques.
The I&I Quetta has initiated further proceedings in the case in accordance with the law and vowed to continue its crackdown against smuggling activities in the region.
