KHUZDAR: In a major crackdown on smuggling, the customs officials of Balochistan seized three buses loaded with 39,000 litres of diesel at a joint checkpost in Wangu on Tuesday.

The diesel was being smuggled across the province in buses, which was foiled by the customs authorities with the assistance of Frontier Corps (FC).

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Chief Collector Customs Balochistan Abdul Qadir Memon and the direct supervision of Collector Customs Khuzdar Saleem Memon.

The total worth of the seized diesel along with the three buses is estimated to be more than 56 million rupees, according to the customs officials.

The customs officials said that they are committed to curb the menace of smuggling and protect the national economy. They also appreciated the cooperation of FC in the anti-smuggling drive.
