QUETTA: The Customs Quetta has confiscated 7,200 rounds of M416 rifle from a car that had secret cavities to hide the ammo. The value of the seized ammo and vehicle is estimated at Rs6 million.

The operation was carried out by the Noshki Field Enforcement Unit of Customs Quetta, following the directives of Member Customs Zeba Hai Azhar, Chief collector Baluchistan Abdul Qadir Memon and Collector Enforcement Quetta Muhammad Ismail. They have increased the vigilance and intelligence network to curb the smuggling activities in the region.

The operation was supervised by Additional Collector Umar Shafiq and Assistant Collector Haseeb Ahmed. Inspector Nazir Kurd and Inspector Ayaz Khan along with Class-IV staff were also part of the team that conducted the raid.

The Customs Quetta has registered a case against the smugglers and initiated further investigation. The seized ammo and vehicle have been taken into custody by the authorities.
