QUETTA: In line with the directives of federal government, Customs Intelligence Sukkur foiled an attempt to smuggle sugar from Sindh to Baluchistan and recovered 1600 bags of sugar weighing 80 tons.
In-charge ASO I&I Sukkur Akmal Hashmi and his team comprising IO Munir Ahmed Bhambro, Maqbool Ahmed, Shah Muhammad, Ghulam Fareed and others have increased vigilance on various highways leading to the province. Resultantly, two trucks were intercepted and sugar was recovered.
Initial investigations found that DG Industries Ministry of Commerce had not issued any NOC for the transportation of this sugar from Sindh to Baluchistan.
