QUETTA: In continuation with FBR’s policy of crackdown against the smuggling and based on the specific directions of the DG Customs Intelligence Mr. Faiz Ahmed Chadhar and under the supervision of Director I&I, Quetta Ch. Muhammad Javaid the Directorate of I&I, Quetta intercepted a truck loaded with expensive foreign origin goods.
The truck was being escorted by pilots near Baleli. Truck was intercepted by staff of the Directorate which led to fierce resistance by the pilots who resorted to firing and stone pelting. The scuffle resulted in damage to one official squad, however, the Directorate’s staff valiantly overcame the resistance and forced the smugglers to flee, after which truck was brought to State Ware House. Thorough examination of truck has led to recovery of foreign origin goods, valuing Rs. 100 million including Tyres, HTV, Cigarettes, Welding rods, Concentrated menthol, pharma grade, Perfumes & body sprays, Cosmetics, Intra-venous catheters, Aphrodisiac medicines / pills, Green tea, Pampers.
This was a brave operation by the I&I Quetta keeping in view the current precarious law and order situation in Quetta.
