KARACHI: Customs Intelligence Karachi seized smuggled goods worth more than Rs 01 Billion during the month of January, 2023.
On the instructions of Mr Faiz Ahmad Director General, Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation- Customs, the Regional Directorate of Karachi under the command of Director Saqif Saeed stepped up its efforts to counter illegal entry of smuggled goods.
During the month of January, 2023 the Directorate has been able to seize record number of smuggled goods valuing more than Rs 1000 Million. The smuggled goods seized include around 10500 bottles of liquor, 3600 laptops, 2396 wrist watches, foreign origin cosmetics, food items, nutritional supplements, betel nuts, fabric, NDP vehicles and smuggled Iranian diesel. FIRs have been lodged and 8 persons have been arrested. All these operations were handled single handedly by I&I Karachi without the help of any other agency.
