HYDERABAD: Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation-Customs, Regional Office, Hyderabad has performed well in the 2nd quarter of fiscal year 2022-23 (Oct 22 – Dec 22) by demonstrating vehement resilience against the menace of smuggling showing increase of 67% of value of seizures vis-a-vis corresponding period of the last year, and 51% increase in January 2023 vis-a-vis corresponding period of the last year.
The seized goods includes NCP vehicles, F/o Cloth, F/o Cigarettes, Gutka, Betel Nuts, etc.
Key driving force behind above performance was persistent encouragement and guidance provided by Mr. Faiz Ahmad Chadhar, Director General Customs Intelligence. Mr. Muhammad Saleem Memon, Director Intelligence Hyderabad accordingly, utilized limited available resources efficiently to enhance performance. Mr. Shakeel Ahmed Deputy Director, Mr. Akmal Hashmi Incharge ASO-Hyderabad & Mr. Saeed Farooqui Incharge ASO-Sukkur were instrumental in anti-smuggling drive during this period.
