GWADAR: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gwadar (I&I Gwadar) seized large quantity of smuggled diesel near Gadani.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation is pursuing a rigorous anti-smuggling campaign across the country.
Working on specific directives of Faiz Ahmed Director General, the staff of I&I Gwadar unearthed the phenomenon of smuggling of huge quantity of HSD OIL being smuggled under the garb of LPG.
The Staff intercepted LPG Bowzer loaded on Truck near Gaddani. On thorough examination it is found that few Kgs of LPG was artistically filled and placed inside the opening valves in order to give impression that the tank is filled with LPG. On de-concealing with the help of cutters led to recovery of approximate 50,000 litres of smuggled HSD OIL.
Approximate worth of seized oil along with transporting vehicles is Rs 23 million. The recovered goods have been seized and two persons have been arrested. Further investigation is underway.
It may be mentioned here that Director I&I Gwadar Tahir Qureshi, Deputy Director Amjad Rajper, Superintend Hanif Kurd and ASO team have controlled the flow of smuggled goods to a maximum extent despite shortage of resources.
