KARACHI: The implementation of order of High Court of Sindh was sought by Ashraf Sons Pharmaceuticals in a letter sent by its lawyer to Collector of Customs, Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) East.
Rana Sakhawat Ali Adovcate wrote the letter referring to an order by SHC dated 4-11-2022.
The bench earlier disposed of a petition filed by the petitioner after the counsel for petitioner requested that he will not press the petition if direction is issued to the collectorate concerned for deciding an application dated 24-10-2022 in accordance with law. The counsel also conveyed willingness of the petitioner to deposit the undisputed amount with the collectorate while disputed amount along with fine and penalty before the Nazir of SHC.
The bench directed the Collector concerned to decide the application of the petitioner strictly in accordance with the law after providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioner side. The court also allowed the request for deposition of disputed and undisputed amount of duty, fine, penalty etc. The collectorate was also ordered to release the goods as soon as deposit is confirmed.
The lawyers letter seeks implementation of the said order.
