KARACHI: A petition filed by Messers Emaan International seeking provisional release of its consignment was disposed of by a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh conditional to securing of disputed amount of custom duty and other taxes with the Nazir of the court.

The bench earlier heard arguments by the counsel from noted law firm Franklin Law Associates who said that revision application is pending before the Director General of Valuation department, Pakistan Customs.

He submitted that petitioner is willing to secure the disputed amount and to pay un-disputed amount to the respondents including Collector Customs Appraisement & Facilitation, East.

The bench allowed the request with direction to petitioner side to secure the amounts as stated above while department was directed to release the goods once Nazir of SHC issues certificate in respect of secured amounts.

The bench also make the fate of secured amount conditional to out come of revision application pending before Director General Valuation.
