KARACHI: MCC JIAP has foiled an attempt to smuggle cocaine into the country, and arrested one Uganda national woman in this regard.
According to details, one Uganda national woman identified as Christine Nelubega arrived in Pakistan from Dubai via PIA flight PK-214.
Superintendent Jamal Zia intercepted the said person on suspicion. An examination of the baggage and personal search was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Collector Abeer Javed. The examination led to recovery of 1.9KG of cocaine, which had been tactfully concealed in her bag.
The market value of the seized narcotics is Rs47 million. A case has been lodged and investigation is underway.
