KARACHI: Sharjeel Jamal of Utrade Logistics has identified violation of Transshipment Rules at MCC Appraisement Lahore, which is causing loss to the national exchequer.
In a letter to Chief Collector Central, Sharjeel Jamal noted that gross violation of rules and regulations are underway at MCC Appraisement Lahore, causing revenue loss to the national exchequer and unfair disadvantage to legitimate businessmen.
Transshipment Permit (TP) are filed and processed on vague descriptions/single HS Code, which is violation of TP Rules.
Moreover, unit of measurement violation is also rampant, and importers are mis-declaring the weight and quantity of imported goods, due to which correct valuation is not implemented resulting in revenue loss to the government.
Undue favors are also being accorded to importers, and arranged examination of imported is being conducted putting legitimate traders at a disadvantage.
Jamal requested that an independent audit is conducted into the affairs of MCC Appraisement Lahore and the Collector to ensure a level playing field to all businessmen and securing government revenue.
