KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue has notified transfers and postings of three BS-20 officers and one BS-19 officer of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) with immediate effect.
Mr. Asif Abbas (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) is transferred from Director, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation, FBR, Multan to Chief, Federal Board of Revenue (HQ), Islamabad.
Mr. Imran Ahmad Ch. (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) from Collector, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Multan to Chief, Federal Board of Revenue (HQ), Islamabad.
It may be mentioned here that Collector Enforcement Multan Imran Ahmed and Director I&I Multan Asif Abbas came into limelight after a million liters of smuggled diesel was recovered dumped in Multan. Both of these officers allegedly tried to underplay this huge recovery of smuggled fuel.
It may be mentioned here that fuel smuggling has been a big issue in the country and at one point of time in recent years around Rs1.5 billion were paid as speed-money for the safe transport and distribution of smuggled fuel products.
However, Tariq Huda took stern action and broke this entire network of fuel smugglers. Malik Shabbo however continued this business. Malik Shabbo has setup a large storage dump in Multan like refineries to store illegal and smuggled goods.
To recall, Pakistan Customs has recovered 1.1 million liters of smuggled Irani petroleum products from the warehouse of M/s Bismillah Lubricant in Multan.
M/s Bismillah Lubricant is owned by one Malik Shabbo. He is known as king of petroleum in Punjab.
A high profile officer Mr. Yasin Murtaza (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-19) is transferred from the office of Additional Collector, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Dera Ismail Khan to Additional Director, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation, FBR, Multan. Until the new director is appointed, Murtaza will have the charge of the Director.
Mr. Muhammad Tahir (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) from Director, Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation, FBR, Islamabad to Collector, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Multan.
