KARACHI Federal Government mull imposing Governor Rule in Sindh. On the advice of Federal Interior Minister Shaikh Raheed Ahmed, Imran Khan has summoned Mr. Rasheed, Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry for a consultative meeting.
Federal Law Minister Dr. Farogh A Naseem, Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan and Babar Awan may join the meeting. Shaikh Raheed is expected to address a press conference at 3 p.m and tell media about key decisions. The press confernce may be after or before imposition of Governor Rule in Sindh suspending the Sindh Assembly for 3 months.
The move is said to be a counter blast to activities of former president Asif Ali Zardari to dislodge Imran Khan as head of government while PPP and all other political parties are in favour of provincial as well as National Assembly completing 5 year term. The expected move is opposed by Sindh government which says that as such a move needs a reason to be presented when action by Federal Government is challenged before Court.
What could be the justification? This question is perplexing the minds of same elements who believe that Imran Khan government may choose this option as they are getting desperate with every passing hour and after public statements by disgruntled PTI MNAs they by all standards of politics and morality have lost majority in National Assembly.
The best option for Imran Khan is to step down, nominate any other leader of his party as new PM and let the elected houses complete five year term.
