KARACHI: The staff of Regional Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi conducted a raid on Central Plaza, Marston Road, Near Gul Plaza, and seized Foreign Origin smuggled goods i. e. , Sofa Cloth , Polyester Fabric, Iranian and Turkish Origin Carpets valuing Rs.64.52 million.
The seized goods have been shifted to state warehouse loaded on seven Mazda Trucks. Further investigation is underway.
In other raids in DHA Phase-I, Phase-IV, Phase-V, I&I Karachi recovered large quantity of foreign origin liquor (500 cartons) and two persons were arrested.
Director Saquif Saeed, Additional Director Umer Shafique, Deputy Director Amjad Rajper have made so many cases that ASO warehouses are full with seized contraband items. ASO is focusing on seizing goods that can be auctioned and revenue could be realized.
Moreover, high-profile officers such as Akmal Hashmi, Muhammad Sadiq and others have been brought back strengthening the team.
