HYDERABAD: Keeping in line with the directions of Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue and the

Director General I&I (Customs), Islamabad to curb the menace of smuggling, the I&I Hyderabad, under the supervision of Director Muhammad Saleem Memon tightened the controls and kept extra vigilance against the smuggling of Iranian Diesel.

In this regard, a team under the supervision of Deputy Director. Shakeel Ahmed of Range office Sukkur was directed for active surveillance on the movement of the smuggled diesel.

On receipt of credible information that huge quantity of Iran origin diesel would be transported from Khuzdar to Shahdad Kot the team of Range office Sukkur with little resources put active surveillance and successfully intercepted an oil tanker and recovered 15,000 litres of diesel under the garb of fake/duplicate documents.

Value of seized diesel along with oil tanker comes to Rs4.950 million.
